Okay, so I went to Safeway last night and found some great deals.
This week they are doing a "cleaning" catalina. You get a $5 off coupon when you spend $15 on participating products in a single transaction (this catalina runs thru 9/28, but the prices I found are thru 9/18).
Some things I saw:

Here are some deals:
Buy 6 packages of Scotch Brite at $2.50

Pay: $12 and get $5 cat back. So $7 for 18 sponges or .38 each
Scrubbing Bubbles $2.50
Look for the Summer Savings booklet (all throughout the store) for a $2/2 coupon
Final Price: $1.50
(There is also a catalina promotion on Scrubbing Bubbles. Buy 2 items and get a $2 cat back. Now it should be $2 cat for every 2 that you buy!)
So pay: $9, Get a $5 cat back for the cleaning promo plus (3) $2 cats back from the overlapping Scrubbing Bubbles cat. Your grand total - A $2 PROFIT!
Buy 3 Hefty at $5.99
Use (3) $2/1 coupons (from the summer savings book)
Pay $11.97 and get $5 cat back- that's $2.32 a box!
**One thing I want to note--please make sure you watch for your catalinas. Last night I got done with 3 transactions and not one catalina printed. Come to find out the machine was not working. My fabulous cashier (here's your shout out Jodi :) ) went ahead and just rang them up as store coupons and applied them to my last order. I still have to go back today and tell them I didn't get one of the catalinas. So much easier to take care of it when you are there and not have to go back.
